Your new favorite place: Jupiter

Jupiter’s name comes from a misunderstanding. Early Spanish settlers recorded the name of the local Native American tribe, the Hobe, but their writings were misinterpreted, and “Jobe” became “Jupiter.”

Today, it’s a thriving coastal community known for its beautiful waterfront properties, fantastic dining options, and strong connection to nature. Home to over 61,000 residents, Jupiter boasts a landscape of lush green spaces and tropical trees, along with charming remnants of its storied past. Some of the country’s most prestigious golf courses are also found here.

The Loxahatchee River winds through the town, providing endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Jonathan Dickinson State Park, one of Florida’s best outdoor recreation areas, sits along the river, offering hiking, camping, and guided boat tours. The jewel of the community is the iconic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, a historic beacon that has stood tall since 1860, offering breathtaking views of the coastline.

Beyond its postcard-worthy scenery, Jupiter is famous for its emphasis on conservation and outdoor activities. With miles of pristine beaches, nature preserves, and parks, it’s a haven for water lovers, boaters, golfers, and nature enthusiasts alike.
